Spring 2018 Favorites: What We are Loving and Planning

I can’t believe how fast spring has flown by. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t have a ton of time to write the post I had planned for this week. I’ve been planning our trip to Denver and getting ready to start my new job! Not to mention celebrating my sister Allie’s upcoming wedding and my sister Mandy’s graduation.

I’ve been listening to tons of podcasts lately. I love to listen to them while I am working out, cooking, driving, or just doing whatever! One of my favorite Christian podcasts is the Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey. At the end of every podcast, Jamie asks her guests what they are loving and what they are reading. I love this and thought this was such a great idea. I don’t want to be that typical lifestyle blog that share things they love every month or every week, but I thought I’d share with you guys what I’m loving and reading each season!

So, to keep with the theme of this blog, I’m going to share the following:

The adventure we’re planning – cause planning is half the fun

A DIY project I’m loving or planning – I’ll try to keep it short, I have a never ending DIY list

What I’m reading – I’m an avid reader

A few simple joys I’m loving – random things that make me smile

So, let’s jump in!

The Adventure We’re Planning:

We are heading to Colorado this week! We are going to stay three nights in Denver and three nights in Silverthorne which is near Lake Dillon. We plan on hiking every day, and we are so, so excited. It will also be our first time staying in AirBnbs! We are also using the Alltrails app to plan our trip.

PS – I booked our flights with Cheapoair.com. One of my top favorite flight finding sights.

A DIY Project I’m Loving AND Planning

We just finished stenciling our bathroom floors which was a DIY we loved, and next on the list is painting the tub in that bathroom! Yes, you heard me. We have hideous mustard yellow shower/tub situation, but replacing it would be a few thousand dollars. So, I’m going to paint it.

To the yellow tub, you’re next.

What I’m Reading

Right now I’m reading Matilda Rice’s Lazy Girls Guide to a Beautiful Life. It’s a gorgeous book, that reads beautifully. It’s filled with stunning pictures that literally have made me gasp. It also includes goodies like recipes, fashion advice, and workouts, its just a fun read.

I also just started reading Timothy Keller’s The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism. I’m only a chapter in but it’s already been so good. So many things for your brain to really chew on, ya know?

Four Simple Joys

Podcasts. I’m listening to The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey, Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe, and Goal Digger with Jenna Kutcher.

Rover.com. We recently discovered Rover! Rover.com is a website where you can search dog sitters or walkers in your area! We have found that it is SO much cheaper and more convenient than a typical doggy-day care. We found a woman near us, who also has a german shorthair pointer. She will pick up River in the morning FROM OUR HOUSE, take him on her other dog walks or to the dog park, then DROP HIM OFF AT OUR HOUSE in the evening. I mean, we love her.  And River loves her. We think you’ll love Rover, too. Use our referral code: www.rover.com/refer/brookh19754/ for $20 off your first stay!

Our goofy boy with HIS favorite thing of spring 2018: his lacrosse balls. Seriously, this dog loves them. They are hard rubber, so they bounce high, and go the distance. He loves to chew them and can’t destroy them. They are perfect..

My Pop socket. I got a paua shell print, which is a pretty New Zealand shell and it makes me so happy.

Get your nails done, Brooke.

Ibotta AppIbotta is a cash back app where you can get cash back on groceries, travel, clothes, and more. I really just use Ibotta for my groceries. I’ve been loving Ibotta since September 2017 and I have earned over $100 just by simply uploading pictures of my receipts and scanning barcodes after I shop. It literally takes 3 minutes and then boom – cash back. Redeem cash as Venmo, Paypal or gift cards. I don’t really do Venmo so I’ve been loving the gift cards. I seriously feel like it’s free money. Use my referral code: agirlandakiwi.com/ibotta, and get your $10 welcome bonus!

You can see the months that I used the app more than others. But I redeemed my first gift card a few weeks ago and it was so easy, I’m hooked. I literally was in line at target, redeemed a $25 gift card and they sent it straight away to my email. The cashier scanned my email and done. It took minutes. Hello free curling wand!

That’s what I’m loving this spring! What you are you loving this spring? What’s your next trip?

Cheers,
